Thick section of a liver prepared to demonstrate the bile canaliculi. This was done by means of a retrograde injection of a brown dye into the hepatic duct.

The network of bile canaliculi (arrows) shows occasional blind ends (blue arrowheads).

Some hepatocytes (H) are pale but visible.
