This field shows the deeper portions of the necks and parts of the bases of gastric glands.

The necks show lightly stained mucous neck cells (*) and a few acidophilic parietal cells (P).

The bases of the glands show a few lightly stained parietal cells and basophilic zymogenic cells (+), which secrete pepsin.
