The following cells are labelled:

  • Lightly stained mucous neck cells (*)
  • Basophilic zymogenic cells (+)
  • Parietal cells (P)

At the junction of the neck and base, the mucous neck cells differentiate into zymogenic cells, which migrate toward the base of the gland.
