This field shows interconnected cords or plates of hepatocytes (H) stained greyish-blue. At the interface of the hepatocytes in the core of the liver plates, several blue-black segments of the networks of bile canaliculi are indicated with white arrows.

Details of the bile canaliculi are illustrated in the bottom drawing in Figure 12.81.
