Section of the head region of the epididymis of a monkey.

The single convoluted epididymal duct is cut longitudinally (left) and transversely (right).

The lumina of the duct contain clustered spermatozoa (Sz).

The high regular epithelium (E) sits on a thick limiting membrane (M) composed of flat contractile myoid cells and connective tissue fibrils.

The intertubular connective tissue (*) is loose and well vascularized.
