    15.24   Ductuli efferentes Version française
Portions of efferent ducts showing details of the epithelial lining.

The festooned or scalloped epithelium is composed of two types of cells: ciliated (Ci) and non-ciliated cells (arrowheads). The ciliated cells are identified by the long motile cilia at their apices.

The non-ciliated cells show short hazy microvilli at their apices. These cells are active endocytic cells that contribute to the resorption of the luminal fluid.

Spermatozoa (Sz) are seen in the lumen.
