Drawing showing a cluster of Leydig cells in the loose connective tissue present between the seminiferous tubules of a human testis.
These large Leydig cells, which secrete androgens, are frequently clustered around capillaries. Some fibrocytes and macrophages can be seen in this interstitial space, in addition to an arteriole and a lymphatic vessel. This drawing was produced from histological fields similar to the one seen in Figure 15.16.
