    15.31   Ductus deferens Version française
Transverse section through the ductus deferens (vas deferens) of a monkey.

The large lumen contains spermatozoa (Sz); its epithelium, which is similar to that of the tail of the epididymis, shows some short folds (arrows).

Around the duct, with the exception of a few myoid cells immediately under the epithelium, there is a thick muscular layer composed of typical smooth muscle fibres (*) arranged in relatively distinct circular, oblique and longitudinal layers.
