    15.20   Rete testis Version française
Section of the rat testis showing the connection of a seminiferous tubule to the rete testis (RT).

The rete testis is an intratesticular system of interconnected ducts lined with a simple low cuboidal epithelium.

At the junction of the seminiferous tubule and the rete testis, the seminiferous epithelium (E) is replaced with an epithelium composed solely of Sertoli cells (S), which form a papilla (*) protruding into the lumen of the rete testis for a short distance.
