Section of the deep cortex of a lymph node.

In this cortex, next to the medullary sinuses (S) are several lymphatic nodules, each showing a germinal centre (G) and a mantle (Ma). This nodule is surrounded by the diffuse lymphatic tissue (D) of the cortex, which is not distinct here from the mantles of the nodules.
