Drawing illustrating the composition of the cortex of a lymph node.
The supporting elements of the node are the stellate reticular cells, equivalent to fibrocytes, and reticular fibres (collagen type III). The mantle of the nodule is composed mainly of small lymphocytes linearly arranged. The germinal centre contains numerous large and medium lymphocytes and a few small lymphocytes plus macrophages.
