Transverse section of the intramural or interstitial part of a human oviduct.

Only a few small irregular folds of the mucosa (arrows) are seen in the narrow lumen of the oviduct.

The tissue of the uterus surrounding the intramural oviduct contains connective tissue (green) and some smooth muscle fibres (*).
