This field shows growing secondary antral follicles (SF) and corpora atretica (C-At), along with a large corpus luteum (CL) with a central cavity containing a blood clot (*).

Two other large fibrous scars or corpora albicans (C-Alb), derived from regressed corpora lutea, are also labelled.

Large vessels (V) are visible in the medulla and at the hilus (Hi) of the organ.
