This field shows sections of a large venule (V), a small arteriole (A), capillaries (*) and a small nerve (Ne).
The intima and the media of the arteriole are distinct, but their adventitia cannot be distinguished from the surrounding dense connective tissue. The endothelium (En) of the venule is barely visible and its associated connective tissue is very thin. The calibre of the capillaries (*) is small, and the capillaries appear limited to the endothelium. Stain: H–E
