A parotid gland.

The serous acini (S) are composed of pyramidal cells showing a spherical nucleus at the base of a granulated cytoplasm. These epithelial cells face the small narrow lumina (arrowheads) of the acini.

A longitudinal section of an acidophilic striated duct (*) is continuous with narrow intercalated ducts (arrows).
