Le tissu conjonctif est coloré en vert. L’épithélium stratifié pavimenteux (Epi) est étroitement attaché au tissu conjonctif dense sous-jacent composé de fibres entrelacées de collagène de type I (C). Les fibres élastiques présentes ne sont pas colorées sélectivement.

Les noyaux des fibrocytes sont rougeâtres (F). Des petits vaisseaux sont également indiqués (V).
