The pelvic bone is made up of three fused bones: the ilium, the ischium and the pubis.

The false pelvis is defined by the iliac fossae and the wings of the sacrum.

The true pelvis is defined by the inner surface of the ischium, pubis, ilium, sacrum and coccyx.
